My educational background:
Master degree in Computer Science (M.Sc.) from Transport and Telecommunication Institute (Riga, Latvia), graduated at 2010. I passionate about Data Science, so I’ve finished Data Science specialization at Coursera.org (John Hopkins University), Big Data XSeries at edX.org (BerkeleyX), series of short courses from other sources like BigDataUniversity.com and PluralSight.com and others. So I constantly do self-education online. I enjoy it.
Some of my greatest achievements to date:
From last year, I would highlight the speaking about Data Science Specialization (Coursera), and participation at the Oracle Innovation Days in Riga, Latvia where I spoke on ‘Oracle Advanced Analytics: insurance claim fraud detection’.
A cool approach to big data I’ve come across:
Blue chip companies like Google are constantly demonstrating cool Big Data applications. Just to name one here, I like Google Self-Driving Car Project. Just image how far they can go in personalizing your trip whether you go shopping or taking a road trip.
Where my passion for big data comes from:
Big Data has lots of applications; one of them – analytics, so, I’d refer this question to my passion for Statistics which came to me when I was studied this discipline at TTI.
A piece of advice I live by:
In order to keep your client happy about what you do, you have to deliver more than he expected from you. In other words, “give more than you take” works everywhere.
